How to check the firmware / Software version in Sony ericsson?
Take out the sim card.
Turn on the phone
Press > * < < * < * while < means push the joystick to the "LEFT"
Go to the "Service Info"
Then go to the Software Info
Read the top line. It should give you the firmware version like Eg. R2AY004
For P800, P900i, P910i, since they don't have the joystick, the way to check the firmware is a bit difference.
Turn on the phone
Press Up * Down Down * Down * while means push the joystick to the "LEFT"
Go to the "Service Info"
Then go to the Software Info
It should give you the firmware version like Eg. Phone software R4A or PDA software
What is debrand?
Debrand means - Decustomise branding such as service provider startup, menu, WAP, GPRS or MMS setting in the phone software.
Benefits of Debrand ?

All branding removed (no more customised startup)
Removed MMS / WAP / GPRS setting restriction - input whatever setting you want
Decustomise the button(s) on keypad which normally bring you to the service provider web

How to input the New WAP / MMS / GPRS / Email settings after the debranding ?
After the debranding, you will find all customised WAP / MMS / GPRS settings were erased, so now, you can input the New WAP / MMS / GPRS / Email settings you want

Choose the phone model, (we use Sony ericsson W800i as an example)
It should bring you to this screen
Look at the "software & set up"
You can choose to set up WAP, Email or MMS..
Then
- Choose the Phone Model - Then Click "Submit"
- Choose the Country - Then Click "Submit"
- Choose the network- Then Click "Submit"
- Choose data connection type - GPRS - Then Click Submit
- Security Measure - Type in the "Number" shown on the picture
- Type in your mobile phone number
Settings will be sent to you by SMS in a minute
(b) If Method (a) doesn't work to you, go to service provider web site / call the customer service team, they can also send you the settings by SMS
For THREE customers, I am sorry that at the moment, THREE doesn't support the settings via SMS service, so you have to input the setting MANUALLY.
